Stereotyped movement in Normal children

Postby sarita921 » Sun Sep 30, 2007 1:01 am

My 3 year old was diagnosed as having shoulder tics and stereotyped movement disorder (hand waving). He has been seen by pedi, neuro, child psych, and a sec opinion with a neuro. He is not autistic. His shoulder shrugs have stopped. I do not notice any new tics. The only thing I notice are exaggerations example when he is talking about something "you put it.... he will make exaggerated hand movements i.e. bending the arms...I know something is not right. But does anyone know of or have any info for transient tics, or even stereotyped behavior in normal children, everything I search shows its mostly in kids with autism etc... thanks alot
