If your hubby had a less typical development (under 20) or if he has any autoimmune conditions, however slightly, he could have an Autism Spectrum Condition and not a Personality Disorder at all.

It sounds like a form of migraine or epilepsy to me, or maybe something that happens when you get drowsy and going towards sleep.

It doesn't sound like a hallucination or a mental disorder to me.
