Maybe its a crazy idea, but I have suffered from bdd, depression,alcoholism,anxiety for fifteen years. I have been sober for 9 yrs and am 31. Despite brief periods in early sobriety the last 5 yrs have been hell. I work with therapists and sponsors and meds just do little. the other week during crisis prevention my counselor suggested a low dose of clonopin or clonazapam(sp) to treat underlying long term anxiety. all of a sudden I am awake, sociable, happy and getting out more. I won't lie and say there are no side effects but before my family and i spend 40k to go to some country club and make masks lol I am wondering if the low dose of benzos could be the answer???

Long term clonazepam is not dangerous perse; however, it can be addicting and you must follow the label directions. I would say you could benefit from reading the following book "The Narcissistic Family" by the Pressmans. You must honest and open with your therapist.
