I am looking for any possible in depth information on the aforementioned subject. I currently had to move away from my boyfriend of 2 years because of his violent and emoitionally troubling outbursts. I believe he suffers from the above subject and I have documentation of his episodes in personal journal entries. I attempted to involve his parents but to no avail. They see me as the problem and I could not remain as the last outburst nearly caused me a broken arm. He has destryed numerous expensive objects from our residence and I have ended up on the recieving end of more than one black eye and other physical injuries. I am not an idiot and I did not stay so long out of fear or dependence. I knew he was sick but I couldn't find anything that covered all the symptoms I had been researching. I thought it was alcoholism at first and went through the motions of 12 step programs. This entry is no joke. He also exhibits the traffic accidents, bar brawls (resulting in drunk and disorderly conduct arrests), was arrested as a teen for breaking and entering/theft and was diagnosed with ADD as a kid and stuck on Ritlan. (HE took himself off the medication somtime in his teens and his parents did not follow up with ANY sort of further checkups) I have also documented past episodes through his childhood and current best friend of outbursts in high school and early 20's. My boyfriend is currently 27 years old and runs on an almost monthy cycle that coincides with the full moon. The most agressive outbreaks are when his parents are either on the way for a visit, visiting, or have just left. I just want him to get some help even if it costs me my life with him. Is anyone currently working in this paticular area? I implore you to help "us". He is very capable of really crossing the line at any time. I just don't want to see him in jail or worse.
Thank You for taking the time to read this.............AGastineau |

| i had an ex husband with these horrendous outbursts that he could not control, and eventually cost us our relationship. until there is something he wants to do about it, you will never be able to convince him that he needs help of any kind. i am sorry to be so frank, but all you can be is supportive, and insist on him seeking help, and remove yourself from his violent path, please, it will eventually wear on your sense of self and reality. you dont deserve to live in a roller coaster of emotions and you can suffer extreme depression from living with someone like this. sorry i have just seen this post, it was written many months ago. good luck and God bless you. |
